Testimonial by Erin
Yuko Halada is not only an
exceptional artist and teacher, she is also an
inspiration and example for her students. I have been
taking Japanese calligraphy with her for four years, and
in that time she has presented me with a whole new view
of the world. Complications in your life seem simple
once she has imbued you with an understanding of how
everyday situations reflect your innermost nature. My
life would not be the daily pleasure that it is now if I
had not been graced with her classes and guidance. Her
art reflects the values she promotes, and you begin to
learn about yourself through the calligraphy brush as
well as through the teacher. You gain not only
knowledge, but also experience. As you work with her,
you will begin to see more and more opportunities every
day, and take these opportunities with
confidence. When I first began taking classes with
Halada Sensei, I was not very confident and tended to
space out a lot of the time. I didn't use my time very
wisely, and I felt I was unable to open up to and get
along with new acquaintances. Escaping into books or tv
programs was easier than facing other people and my own
weaknesses, so thats what I did.?Honestly, though, that
was not very satisfying. Now, after having matured, with
a lot of help from her, I find myself more social and
connected with those around me, and excited for each
individual day. This was presented to me both through
the art and conversation. The energy Yuko Halada brings
into the lives of the people she knows is truly
astounding. Taking her class is an extraordinary and
life-changing opportunity.

Schumacher
Beautifully describes her experience with Sensei's private
sessions.
Jennifer
Jennifer, 17,
was struggling with some strokes at her shodo lesson; she
just could not get it right even though she had been trying
over and over again. However, she worked very hard on
her spiritual homework exercise, which was rather
challenging material for her, and she accomplished
it. Next session she had a breakthrough and was able
to do the strokes right. She was thrilled and felt
much more confidence in herself. During this time, Halada
Sensei was also giving her some spiritual guidance to bring
more awareness and quality into her life.
Soon after, Jennifer was able to apply what she gained
spiritually into her dancing. She was able to dance
freely from her self consciousness and did a incredible job
in her dance performance. She was now very alive,
beautiful, confident and expressive, whereas before she
used to worry more about how other people would see her
dance because she was feeling inferiority
complex.
